Has all the references for reader to understand the context. Very good story. Fast paced and very entertaining.Doesn't need to be a sequel.
Dick. I say "sequel" because you don't really need to read Old Man's War first to enjoy this one, although it might help you get into the universe quicker. Scalzi has really surprised me with how great this series is and I can't wait to pick up the rest. I'm tempted to say that I like this book more than OMW but I think the humor in OMW makes that one slightly more enjoyable. I didn't think anything could live up to the greatness that was OMW but I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the existential themes that were present in this book, it reminded me a lot of Philip K.
While it was moderately entertaining his description of consciousness was ultimately so bothersome that it ruined the book.
Although it was good, it wasn't nearly as good as the first one.I definitely recommend it as I loved the first book and have almost finished the third which I am loving, too.Get it. I so enjoyed "Old Man's War" that I couldn't wait to get the second installment.
I recommend. I didn't even realize it was a second book until reading the afterward. My first real Kindle book. Good plot with many threads, well-resolved.
